Do your children like to fish? The City of Bartlett is once again hosting the Children’s Fishing Rodeo for ages 12 and under at Appling Lake in the Bobby K. Flaherty Municipal Center located at Highway 70 & Appling Road in Bartlett. This is a great way to kick-off the summer with your children. There will be prizes awarded in four age categories; 5 and under, 6-7, 8-9, and 10 to 12 with two overall Grand Prize Winner. So bring your fishing pole and get ready to catch a lot of fish! This is a FREE event but you must register before fishing. Starting two week prior to the event, you can pre-register at Gator Brown’s Bait & Tackle located at 6816 Highway 70 in Bartlett, (336-9699) or at the event the day of the rodeo.

This is a CATFISH Rodeo. (the lake will be stocked with catfish prior to the rodeo)
Appling Lake will be closed from Monday, June 2, until after the completion of the rodeo on June 7. NO FISHING is allowed at Appling Lake during this time! The lake will open to the public after the fishing rodeo.

Bobby K. Flaherty Municipal Center (Highway 70 & Appling Road)
You are invited to join us for a Star-Spangled Fireworks Extravaganza in celebration of our Nation’s 250 Birthday. Plan to start the night with live musical entertainment featuring the Bartlett Community Concert Band followed by Kevin & Bethany Paige, a Classic Car "Show & Shine" and concessions/food trucks. When the sun goes down the night sky will light up with a spectacular fireworks show! All activities will take place on the lawn of the Bartlett Performing Arts & Conference Center and Appling Middle School.
If you would like to have your Classic show car, Antique or Vintage vehicle to be a part of the "Show & Shine," parking passes will be available in the office of Community Relations located inside The Venue at Bartlett Station between the hours of 9am - 4pm, June 15 - 30, 2026. Space is limited, Only a total of 60 passes will be given out.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone at our Fireworks Extravaganza on Thursday, July 2nd starting at 6:00 PM, (Fireworks will begin at 9:10pm) at the Bobby K. Flaherty Municipal Center.

6:00 PM Opening Ceremony, will include the Posting of the Colors by the Bartlett Police and Fire Departments Honor Guard, the National Anthem featuring the Bartlett Community Concert Band and David Skelton and the Pledge Allegiance of the United States.

7:15 PM Mayor David Parsons will welcome everyone, Recognize the elected officials and the Servicemen and women, Veterans and their families that are in attendance.

Leadership Bartlett 2026, in partnership with City of Bartlett Public Library and City of Bartlett, TN Parks & Recreation Department is excited to announce the installation of a new Story Book Trail at Mark Brown Park. The featured story will be “Ricky, the Rock That Couldn’t Roll” which is a children’s book that encourages perseverance, friendship, and inclusion.
Story Book Trails are designed to combine literacy, outdoor activity, and family engagement by placing pages of a children’s book along a walking path for families to read together as they move through the park.
Throughout the summer and into the fall, the Story Book Trail will rotate to a different Bartlett park each month.
